Commercial use

if your site main purpose is generating money, you need to obtain a commercial license.
there are two kinds of commercial license, they one you need is based on the way you will use FireStats.

Single instance license

This is the license for commercial sites that only need to use a single instance of FireStats, for example, an eCommerce site.

  • The license terms are the same as the non-commercial licence, except the non-commercial restirction is removed.
  • This license includes free upgrades for one year.
  • You are eligable for a one month free trail period before buying.

At the end of the trail period, the license cost will be based on the number of unique hits during this month:

unique hits after a month Average per day Cost
0-60K (Up to avg 2K/day) 25$
60K-300K (Up to avg 10K/day) 50$
300K-600K (Up to avg 20K/day) 75$
600K-900K (Up to avg 30K/day) 100$
900K-above(More than 30K/day) 150$

Multiple instance license

This is the license for sites that provide service to many users, where each such user will receive his own instance of FireStats. Example for such sites are Blog hosting platforms and hosting platforms.

  • The license terms are the same as the non-commercial licence, except the non-commercial restirction is removed.
  • This package include free upgrades
  • You are allowed to give each of your users a free trail period of one month.

The rate per user per month depends on how much you charge your users users for your service, and on how many of your users will actually use FireStats.

The base rate is calculated using the following formula:
let 'fee' be amount your user is paying you.
base rate = min(max((fee * 5%),0.5$),2$)
in other words, the base rate is 5% of your fee, but no more than 2$ per user per month, and no less than 0.5$ per user per month.

There is a marginal discount based on the number of users actually using FireStats:

Number of users Marginal discount
1-99 users None
100-199 10%
200-999 20%
1000-9999 30%
Above 10000 40%

Marginal means that the discount apply only in the the specified range, for example: if you have 250 users, you will pay:

  • full price for the first 99 users.
  • 90% of price for the next 100 users.
  • 80% of the price for the last 51 users.
