FireStats can transform old data into a more compact form that uses less database storage. since the compact form contain less information, only old data is transformed.

The compact data preserves the following information:

  • Number of page views and visitors for each site
  • Number of page views and visitors for each page
  • Number of referrer hits and visitors for each referrer.

Among other things, the compact data does not preserve the following information:

  • Browser and Operating systems distribution
  • Countries distribution
  • Detailed hits table

It is highly recommended that you allow FireStats to compact old data, because it will both reduce size of the FireStats database and improve performance.
